The term "diplomatic immunity" refers to a principle of international law that limits the degree to which foreign government and international organization officials and employees are subject to the authority of police officers and judges in their country of assignment.

This seminar is meant to guide law enforcement officers on the protocol and actions which they should adhere to while interacting with a Diplomat in their official line of duty; as it pertains to the Trinidad and Tobago Privileges and Immunities (Diplomatic, Consular and International Organisations) Act, Chapter 17:01.
