Instruments to Combat Drug Trafficking - 23 - 27 September 2024
The week-long Hybrid training course focuses on the strategic, operational, and legislative tools used to combat drug trafficking and mafia-related activities. The course brings together CARICOM IMPACS, the European Union through the COPOLAD III programme, and the Italian Anti-Mafia Investigation Department (DIA) to provide a comprehensive approach to tackling organized crime, particularly transnational criminal organizations. Throughout the training, participants are introduced to various topics such as the regional crime and security framework, cybercrime, virtual assets, peer-to-peer transactions, and mafia activities across different regions. The sessions also highlight international police cooperation and offer operational case studies to deepen participants' understanding of asset prevention and modern investigative techniques like digital currency tracking and money laundering.
