GENDER AND SMALL ARMS CONTROL PILOT REGIONAL WORKSHOP FOR THE CARIBBEAN
The objective of the workshop "Gender and Small Arms Control Regional Workshop for the Caribbean" is to engage participants in a series of structured discussions on the following themes (final themes to be determined in consultation with participants):
• Concepts: Understanding the gender dimensions of small arms violence
• Language: Speaking the same language on gender
• Promises: Understanding existing state commitments on gender and small arms
• Practices: How to "gender mainstream" small arms control programmes and initiatives
• Data: Generating data to support gender-responsive programmes
• Assessment: Evaluating gender-responsiveness
These themes will be tailored to participants based on regional and national small arms control and WPS-related processes and programmes, and on the basis of a pre-workshop assessment.
