Counter-Terrorism Techniques at International Airports Risk Analysis and Detection of Potential Foreign Terrorist Fighters
From 8 to 12 July 2019 in Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, through the UNODC-WCO-INTERPOL Airport Communication Project (AIRCOP) and the United Nations Counter Terrorism Centre (UNCCT) of the United
Nations Office on Counter Terrorism (UNOCT) will host a Specialized Regional Training to Build Capacities of Frontline Officers in International Airports to Address Threats Posed by Foreign Terrorist Fighters. This training will be carried out in
collaboration with CARICOM IMPACS and the CBSI Connect Project, as well as the DNCD Training Academy in the Dominican Republic. The
training aims to strengthen the operational capabilities and technical
knowledge of airport security agents in addressing threats posed by Foreign
Terrorist Fighters for the management and control of borders at international
airports, contributing largely to the commitment of UNODC AIRCOP, UNCCT and
CARICOM IMPACS to improve capacities to combat transnational organized crime at
international airports.
